MSMEs Capacity Development- Training

CAP Youth Empowerment Institutes (www.capyei.org) was started in 2011 and committed to train NEET youth (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) in job entry level skills. CAPYEI delivers her mandate due a strong foundation based on her clear mission, vision and objectives. Mission: To build safer, healthier, and productive communities of young people capable of supporting self-directed growth and positive citizenship Vision: CAP YEI’s vision is to be an end- to-end community-based solutions provider in linking quality learning and sustainable livelihood for vulnerable communities of children and young people Objectives: 1. To ensure disadvantaged youth acquire life skills, relevant labor market skills, savings education, and small business development. 2. To facilitate disadvantaged youth access to internship and job opportunities during through institutionalized public-private partnerships. 3. To ensure youth receive vital pre and post-job placement counseling, support, and services including financial as they transition to work. Over the last 13 years, CAP YEI has reached and supported over 100,000 (Directly and indirectly) NEET youth in Kenya and achieved a successful transition 'from learning to earning' of 87% (75% for jobs and about 12% for enterprise development through Training, Mentorship, Coaching, Acceleration and Job Matching. This has been through a strong network of over 53 training centers in over 30 Kenyan counties. CAP YEI has extended its reach, including hard-to-reach areas like Tana River, Lamu, Mandera, and Turkana. In 2020 CAP YEI became an ILO Partner and fully adopted the SIYB (Start and Improve Your Business) curriculum as part of its enterprise training program and SME Loop as a coaching and mentorship tool to incubate ideas and accelerate high-potential innovations. Further to reinforce the MSMEs development component CAP YEI has one (1) licensed ILO SIYB Master Trainer and 23 Certified SIYB trainers who have actively delivered the SIYB Business development modules (GYB & SIYB) to more than 3594(1864 Males & 1810 Females) entrepreneurs across all our programs, among them, 190 entrepreneurs being Refugees from DRC Congo, Burundi and Rwanda and 78 being People Living with Disabilities (PLWD).
